QUOTES

QUOTES

I went to the library with my Digital Arts' class and we had to find some quotes that were relevant with our progression route.
So I found a book that was connected with photography - 'Creative Vision' and looked there for inspirational quotes. And I found these:

'Ultimately, my hope is to amaze my self. The anticipation of discovering new possibilities becomes my greatest joy.'
Jerry Uelsmann

'Trust that little voice in your head that says ''Wouldn't it be interesting if...'' And then do it.'
Duane Michals, 'More Joy of Photography' by Eastman Kodak

'My photographs are really about me. I think all art, to some extent, is about the maker.'
Keith Carter, 1996, from 'Photographs: 25 years'

REFLECTION

I like the first quote because I don't get easily impressed of anything. So actually my hope is to amaze myself by my creations, photographs and generally my life with the simplest things. I am really into discovering new things, and especially observing new things and then thinking of how to take the photo so later it can become a masterpiece.

I am very impressed by the second quote because again it describes me as well. I usually don't trust myself generally, or with other words - I look for something that could motivate me and 'awake' the photographer in me, and help me see the wide range of possibilities that photography gives you, in general.

And for the third quote - when it's about photography, there is this smal detail about photographers - The photographer is the one that actually tells the viewer where to look or where to focus his eye in the photo. And it's like that in all arts. Either the artist, or the photographer is the one who 'force' your attention and makes you think of the reason why he painted or shooted this picture.
Those three quotes are basically related to my course which is photography and likewise I believe and I feel that they describe me as a person.

  1. Good commentary on the quotes! Think about posting a picture of the books. Also you might want to think about correcting your source on the first quote! Good job :)
