REFLECTION OF ARTIST

The reason why I chose Steve McCurry was that he is my favourite photographer for many reasons. I like the way he captures his photos by traveling in many different countries with different languages, cultures, religions and ideas. When I saw for the first time his photos I was impressed and interested in the same time because every photo tells a story. You can't move your eyes off his photos.

SOME OF HIS WORK

This is the most famous picture of Steve McCurry. Afghan Girl was taken in 1984 and appeared on June 1985 cover of National Geographic. Sharbat Gula was living as a refugee in Pakistan during the time of the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. What is special for this photo is that she is looking straight at the camera with her green eyes making the whole portait unique and diffrent.

  1. Good effort on the artist research post. Please try to avoid using Google & Wikipedia as reference, and rather go to the original source, for example by looking at the National Geographic website (http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2002/04/afghan-girl/index-text.html)
