BACK SIDE

1) I have doubled the image in order to create the mirror illusion, especially in the middle, because I like the pattern that is created in the middle. I decided to use that for the back of my CD cover because I think it will look good for a background of the tracklist.

I chose the DSC_0025.NEF photo from the trees and the IMG_3080.R2 from the portrait ones. I experimented with different photos but these two were the best choice for the double exposure experiment. I wanted to show the similarities between a human face and the pureness of nature so I have put the photo of the tree in the background and then I edited the photo with the human face so it looks like a silhouette. And then I used the branches of the tree as a pattern and I have put them on the face. I used the Brightness & Contrast tool to make the photo black & white so it would look more dramatic.

Here is the PROCESS:

1) First, I chose the two photos that I am going to use for the double exposure. Then I placed them in Photoshop in different pages and I started the editing. I selected the tree that I am going to use as a pattern and then I cropped the photo with the female face and on the same layer by clicking on the Vector mask option I created a silhouette form of the actual photo. Then I opened the Adjustment layer menu and I clicked on the 'Black white' option to make the photo look more dramatic.

2) Then in the same menu I chose the Levels option to put some more light in the photo. I selected the photo of the tree that I am going to use and copied it in a new layer. Then I moved the image of the silhouette that I created earlier in the layer where the photo of the tree is.

3) Then I clicked on the layer with the actual photo. I opened the flyout menu and I chose the Overlay option which helped me to make the photo blend underneath the tree photo. Then I moved a little bit the levels of the contrast and the brightness to give a dramatic look to my final piece.

Then I uploaded the photo to BeFunky software in order to do a collage. I chose the same photo and I doubled it. And I used the mirror technique to make the front of my CD cover.

I ADDED THE TITLE ''ILLUSION'' WITH FONT SIZE 463 AND FONT CAVIAR DREAMS. I PUT THE TEXT RIGHT SIDE TO THE BOTTOM.
