Mood Board

In class our tutor divide us into small groups in order to do the work. With my team which is Jiwon, Georgia and me we had to create a mood board about a theme that we agreed in the group. Our theme was something about International.

This is the sheet that we received from Zoya. We decide that I will look at the last two points which are the animated effects and the photography styles.

Photography Styles
For that part I searched on Google photos in general that relates to the word ''International''. I found some interesting photos that can relate to this word.

The world map with the national flags.

National food with the colours of the specific country.

International students from all over the world.

International Communication.

International landmarks.

Animated Effects

  • Small, simple animations are engaging and interesting.
  • Mixing up too many different moving effects, it can cause complete chaos.
  • Realism is what make animation trendy.

Themes research

THEMES

In the class we discuss about the themes. We gave some ideas and then everyone had to do some research to present it in the next lesson.

The ideas were:
  • Sensations
  • Ta - Da!
  • Tropical Flowers
  • Internationals
  • The ''B''s (Because we are groub B)
  • The Ants (Because ants work hard)
  • 1990's (We all born in 90's)
  • A1/ 1 /A
  • Straight Outta 90's
  • Leicester City Arts Club
  • CMYK (subtractive colour model)
Afterwards in the next lesson we voted for our 3 favourites themes and almost everyone chose the theme ''Internationals'' as a favourite and so we chose that.

Fonts Research

TYPOGRAPHY - FONTS

Serif Fonts are the most common fonts that many websites uses.
SERIF, SANS SERIF AND SCRIPT.

1. Script Fonts are more calligraphic and typically appear with joined letters.

2. Serif Fonts are denoted by small ''feet'' at the bottom of the the individual characters.

3. Sans Serif Fonts lack the feet at the bottoms of the individual characters. Usually are more blocky in nature and tend to reproduce better at smaller font sizes.

Websites that use the Fonts

Serif Font: Cheltenham

The New York Times has been using the Cheltenham since 2003.

The Vogue is using Savoy typeface. This is a typeface for brands focused on a stylish appearance that’s also easy on the eyes.

The Guardian website is using the guardian typeface.  An excellent choice for newspapers or magazines, this typeface makes it comfortable for readers to consumer large chunks of information at a time.

Team Roles Research

In SOCIAL MEDIA TEAM we are going to promote the Virtual Gallery through social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+ and etc. Also, we have to collect feedback from visitors.

In ARTIST INTERVIEWER TEAM 1) We have to interview the artists/designers about their work for the Virtual Gallery Space 2) Photograph the artists/designers 3) Feed the information back to the Digital Design team to incorporate into the Virtual Gallery.
